Resveratrol

Resveratrol is a derivative compound of grapes, in the polyphenol class, that has been widely credited for the red wine's purported cardiovascular benefits. Laboratory tests have found that it does possess anti-inflammatory effects in mice while similar benefits in humans have not yet been established.

Resvesterol is sometime labelled as 'red wine extracts' in health products. It may be useful to know that it is not yet approved as a dietary supplement and you should practise caution about its consumption.
